Etiquette

  1. Show up punctually for training.
  2. Bow before entering and leaving the mat.
  3. Always maintain a respectful attitude towards your peers.
  4. If you have to leave training before the official end, please inform the teacher before the beginning of training.
  5. If you feel unwell (tired, injured, ill etc.) it goes without saying that you should take a break.
  6. Wearing jewellery (necklaces, rings, piercings, etc.) is prohibited.
  7. If a longer absence is planned, please inform the teacher.
  8. For hygienic and practical reasons, it is important to keep toenails and fingernails short.
  9. Shoes, food and drinks are forbidden on the mat.
  10. Cell phones may not be switched on or used during training.
  11. Leave private disputes at the door.
  12. Profanity and swearing are not acceptable.
  13. No one should brag about training performance or qualifications before, during or after training.
  14. The kimono (gi) must always be clean, anything else shows disrespect.
  15. For women, it is mandatory to wear a rash guard (T-shirt) under the kimono (gi).
  16. Avoid outbursts of aggression during training.
  17. Train loosely enough so that everyone can show up for the next session in one piece.
  18. If you have personal problems with training partners, contact the teacher.
